Robert Lang had a vision to build the best-sounding, most unique music recording facilities in the nation. He began soundproofing his one-room garage in Shoreline, WA with egg cartons and mattresses from Goodwill. Over the next ten years, Robert would spend his days and nights digging, excavating, welding, planning, expanding and cultivating this extraordinary work of art which we know of today as Robert Lang Studios (RLS). Since its founding in 1974, RLS has hosted artists and bands such as Kenny G., Peter Frampton, Nirvana, the Foo Fighters, Heart, Eddie Vedder, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Dave Matthews, Death Cab for Cutie, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Candlebox and many, many more. Robert Lang- Technical Director

Visionary and Renaissance Man. His incredible persistence and “never give up” attitude is a testimony to what is possible if you believe in your dreams and he is proud to share his experience and to mentor RLA students throughout their time in the studio. "Decades of experience have taught me that people do their best work in a relaxed, respectful and professionally managed environment.  My role is to create a collaborative atmosphere where everyone is contributing toward the same goal.  That's when the musicians, vocalists, and other artists deliver performances they didn't even know they had in them." - Will LeMaster.
